4/1/14

More housekeeping today and trying to close old positions.  Have 2 left that need to be trimmed that I've been holding onto for a while.  But also cut some more today.  Markets were up again and had a good close, should be good day for markets tomorrow.  Bad news for me is I used a day trade today and will only look for an overnight play tomorrow.  Here was todays action.
OH account-
Bought a new stock.  CBAK-this is a play off of HPJ, which I also traded but not very successfully.  I'll recap that trade later.  CBAK was going to be a day trade as well but had a good closing and I think could gap.  As it is a profitable trade at close.  Will try to exit into a spike tomorrow.

IB account-
exited position in ERBB-was a wolf pick and I think I was too late to party on these.  None have really performed for me so cutting all of them.

Bought HPJ-stock was breaking out and was a previously played stock.  Bought the breakout then moved stop loss up to make sure I did not lose money on trade.  I ended up moving stop loss to far up, meaning not giving the price action enough room and got stopped out for small gain.  Under 20 bucks so few cents per share.  Could have been close to 75 cents per share win if timed properly.

Sold SPLI-had a hard time selling this.  Ended up just doing a market order to get rid of it.  wold pick and late to the party.  Bad loss for me.

Sold ICBU-was a fake wolf pick I guess.  Apparently he only said it looked good, not that he was buying it.  So other followers did not buy and left me with a loss.  Glad to be out, now just have to make up for lost time/money.

Number of positions open has been getting lower and still plan to do more day trades and overnight plays.  Cutting losses faster, even though it is harder than it sounds.  Hate seeing the stock up over the price I bought after I sold for a loss.  Need to work on this aspect...a lot.  Know it will not be easy, need to remove emotion from position but hard to do with money.  Wish my losses lately would have been april fools jokes but they aren't.  My trading has been an aprils fools joke, need to get back on the right track.
