Late update on trading Friday. I had prior engagements and had to leave before market close, so missed about the last hour of the day. Did buy 3 new stocks however so here we go.
Bought a big size in NEWL. Bought this because it started to breakout on news of new purchase to grow its business. Did not time well and ended day underwater on position.
Bought VMEM-was a pedone pick and was breaking out to an area where it previously gapped. Thought it could gap up and be a sizable gain.
Bought CVM-bought on the 6 month breakout. Had a poor close to end the day so held overnight, original plan was to use a day trade on it.
Right at close my order for RIC executed. Market recovered, so no rush into gold like I was preparing for. Only made a few cents a share but a win none the less.
In my optionhouse account I cleared out INUV for a bad loss % wise. Was in trade way too long. started picking up before earnings, but dropped after. Holding through earnings has hurt me in this account.
Monday-3/14 St. Patty's day
Quick recap of opening/closing today is as follows:
Sold my CVM premarket for a gain. I lowered the target after the close on Friday. Didn't think I would get out alright. Obviously did, good way to start week after bad day friday.
Near open sold almost all my VMEM. Hit highs but not rushing to fill the gap. Ended up selling rest of my position few hours later near the same price, was not moving fast. Worried about purchase but it worked and moving on.
Bought MNGA attempted breakout. dropped after I bought-my mistake putting order in, I didn't want to buy until it hit new highs on the day. Above 1.61 and order immediately executed at 1.53. Stock got stuck around 1.40-1.45 for most of day and picked up a little at close. Start of after hour was still on the move upwards. Might get a little gap up tomorrow and I will most likely sell after gap and possible morning spike.
Bought HPJ. have played it before twice. Once good once bad. Now in lower than last selling price. Been coming back to life a little. Simply looking for a win, not a huge win or gain. Think it was a pretty good entry price, time will tell. Closed above my buy price so looking good.
Did use a day trade today. Timed the breakout pretty good on CDTI. Was a little choppy right as it hit new highs in afternoon and decent spread so I bought at bid. Picked up some speed about 10 min to close and hit my target for a good gain. Roughly 10% in 30 min. Wish all my trades were like that.
Also closed out my small position in ZIGO I had in optionhouse. Small loss I decided to take and going to move on. Was a chart play that has only gone down all last week. Exiting for my loss and putting money back to work. Waiting for cash to settle now and then decide on new play or transfer cash to IB account and claw toward the 25K mark to end PDT.
