2/28/14

Slow start to the day for me.  Trial for think or swim ran out and had to figure out how to fix it.  So signed up for an account and doubt I will fund it.  Maybe slowly if I want another account-easiest way to get around PDT rule-or if I want to track trades fully on profit.ly.  So would take out of my old broker and put those funds in TOS and treat it the same.  TOS software is nice and gets all level 2 quotes free and in real time.  My new broker IB charges for that, makes haveing TOS account advantageous.

Updates on positions:
Closed MNTR in old broker account-sold cheaper than I wanted but had low volume all day and chased down to get out with a profit.  Small profit on this trade, but happy with profit and happy to be liquid in cash.

MY-breakout kept on going throughout day.  Very few pull backs and closed at day highs.  With any luck they will have a press release this weekend and really push stock up.  Sold some shares at 1 year high (resistance) level and some when market had quick panic caused by Russia invading Ukraine.

Did use a day trade on HPJ- bought on a slight pullback-stock was in breakout mode.  Price was not at bottom and was little before market panic.  Ended up green on the day and covered all my shares after hours-had limit order in that I thought might be covered before close.  Glad new broker lets me execute orders outside of normal hours.  Will play this stock again-big potential with battery plays-thank you TSLA for putting sector in everyone's sights.  HPJ also received its first large order for large batteries.

Markets closed green again and another all time high close for S&P.  Nasdaq down about 10 pts-hardly any change, especially given its reaction to Russia invasion-big panic for a little then bounce right back.

Still in some MY, GALT-which had a terrible day, TSLA-red day but think there is enough buzz around to more it higher, KIOR-panicked for half of day then slow creep-market panic did not help its momentum-holding as I think it could have a decent move next week-moving up steadily til close and after hours seems to be continuing.
